PEOPLE will come together on August 18 & 19, 2018 at the historic Funkhaus in Berlin. Beginning August 12, over 150 artists will gather at Funkhaus and the Michelberger Hotel to collaborate and compose new work, culminating with public performances across seven stages and a maze of studios in the former East German Republic radio and recording headquarters.  Free of headliners and sponsors, PEOPLE has been known to be a revelation in uncertainty and surprise. 
 
Created and produced by Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Justin Vernon, Nadine Michelberger and Tom Michelberger, PEOPLE is a steadily growing group of artists who have come together to create and share their work freely, with each other and everyone.    
 
The PEOPLE live event was born of a wish to establish an independent and nurturing space in which to make work - generally around music -  that is collaborative, spontaneous and expressive in nature, and where all unnecessary distractions or obstacles that get in the way are removed. It’s a gathering for the benefit and development of the artists involved and, just as importantly, for those who would like to access and enjoy the art.
